Pikitup’s waste management services would be operational on 24 September.
According to the municipal entity, business and domestic refuse collection, the collection of recyclable waste in all participating areas, and street cleaning limited to the Joburg CBD and Alexandra would be done on the public holiday.
All garden sites would remain open until 1pm for the disposal of light garden refuse only, electronic waste and recyclable items.
All builders’ rubble can be disposed free of charge at Robinson Deep, Goudkoppies and Marie Louise landfill sites on the day.
