Houses robbed in Morningside and Buccleuch

MORNINGSIDE - Two suspects made off with valuables and a white BMW during a house robbery incident.

The incident took place in Morningside Manor at approximately 1.30am when, according to Sandton police spokesperson, Captain Kym Cloete, the complainant was sleeping before being woken up by his dog barking.

“When the complainant woke up to investigate, he saw two males in the lounge and proceeded to shout at them,” she said.

After threatening to shoot him, the suspects went to the brother’s room where they stole electronic equipment before fleeing in the victim’s car.

The investigation is still underway.

Meanwhile, a house in Buccleuch was ransacked after suspects managed to gain entry into the property at 11.20am when the complainant heard a noise while in the bedroom. According to Cloete, she went to investigate and at that point came across two men.

“One of the men was armed and instructed her to remain silent before taking her upstairs where the other suspect had started searching the bedroom,” she said.

The suspects made off with electronic valuables and wrecked the gate, Cloete said. The investigation continues.
