She said after a burst water pipe outside of her home in Parkmore, workers from Joburg Water dug up her driveway and mended the pipe. However, Dunckley said Joburg Water left a big mess once they were done.
“They left a huge gaping hole where my entrance was,” she explained. “This meant I could not get vehicles in or out of my property. Three weeks later and at least one phone call every day and my driveway is still a chasm.”
Some of her neighbours also have dug out driveways and pavements. “We look like we have been invaded by a race of giant moles,” said Dunckley.
She said she’s also experienced constant water cuts recently. “My five-month-old is left without a bath, we can’t sterilise his bottles, let alone do anything for ourselves either,” added Dunckley.
“Phone bills are racked up, we are pleading for a service to be provided for which we pay extortionate rates and nothing is done.”
