Winemakers Guild to impress with showcase
SANDTON - With a chance to taste the finest wines on offer, the Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild will host a showcase auction in Johannesburg that aims to celebrate wine making excellence.
The auction will see a variety of wines on offer to consumers set to take place on 27 August in Sandton.
Gudrun Clark, spokesperson for GC communications, explained the purpose of hosting the showcase in Johannesburg.
“This showcase [will] give wine lovers the opportunity to taste the selection of rare and sought after wines to go under the hammer this year,” he said.
He explained that the actual auction would be held in Stellenbosch in October, and that the upcoming showcase would highlight the wines on preview.
Those present will also be able to place bids on rare signed bottles from previous auctions.
“Only wines crafted exclusively for the guild auction by these leading winemakers are sold at the annual auction which is open to the public, wine collectors, and the liquor and restaurant trade.” he said.
The Winemakers Guild consists of 45 winemakers who jointly represent some of the best-known wine brands in South Africa.
The showcase will take place at the Atrium, located at Nedbank Head Offices and will run from 6pm-9pm.
