Advancing youngsters’ soccer skills

SANDTON - Varsity College Sandton treated 14 boys of Afrika Tikkun Outreach Programme to an action soccer tournament that was aimed at helping them build their soccer skills.

The event took place at the Junxion Centre on William Nicol Drive. Boys aged between 10 and 14 years received soccer training, which comprised of dribbling, passing, shooting, goalkeeping, trapping and passing.

“We believe firmly in sports development as Varsity College, it is for this reason that we have decided that training such as this should take place regularly in order to nurture the boys’ talents on the pitch,” said Justin Pemberton, Varsity College’s Golf Academy manager and sports co-ordinator.

“We would therefore continue to build on this relationship, by visiting the boys often to give them more training and to continue to improve their soccer techniques.”

After their training on pitch, the boys were further treated to lunch and each of them were given goodie bags to take home.
