R8 000 worth of tools stolen from bakkie

SANDTON - A man reported that R8 000 worth of equipment was allegedly stolen from a white Nissan bakkie which was parked in Chislehurston, Sandton.

This according to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police who said the man was advised to have the bakkie checked for fingerprints after he opened a case with the police.

“However, he said the car was already washed,” explained Maphakela. “Everything was in order after the man parked the company car on Protea Street.”

He said the man alleged that all the doors were locked and that when he returned to the car, only one of the doors was unlocked.

Maphakela added that company tools were stolen from the back of the bakkie. He said, “The suspects allegedly took a side cutter, spanners, step ladder, a welding set and a gas bottle.”
