Woman bound and robbed on Fredman Drive

SANDTON - A woman in Sandton was left traumatised after two men held her at gunpoint and tied her up in the back of her car.

The incident took place at one of the business parks on Fredman Drive on 22 July, where the victim works.

The complainant, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that as she was entering the parking lot at her workplace, she noticed a movement behind another car. “I thought nothing of it, but as I was preparing to leave the car, an unknown man tapped on my window with a gun and then forced my door open,” she said.

The suspect then pointed a gun at her stomach, ordered her to hand over her jewellery, and forced her to lie face down while another man entered the car and assisted in tying her up.

The thieves made off with her jewellery, handbag and bank cards, but left her house and car keys behind.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for Sandton police, confirmed the incident and explained that the police were still conducting an investigation into the matter.

Thus far no arrests have been made.
