Paulshof property group stops hunger

SANDTON - Rawson Paulshof put in many hours at a recent Stop Hunger Now campaign at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The property group worked from 4am until 7:30pm for the Stop Hunger Now Mandela Day 67 minutes charity event on 18 July.

Johannesburg corporates and businesses managed to get 4220 volunteers to help in the event. Kerry Mawson, head of Rawson’s Paulshof franchise, roped in five members of Rawson Paulshof’s staff as well as their children, and even got help from six members of Rawson’s regional office.

“There can be very few more worthwhile charities for the Rawson Property Group to support than this one, and this is why we decided to give it all the help we could,” Mawson said.

Stop Hunger Now was established in America by Dr Ray Buchanan in 1998. Buchanan’s aim was to eradicate hunger within one lifetime, that is 30 to 50 years. Today, the primary aim of Stop Hunger Now is to eradicate severe malnutrition in Africa. The main beneficiaries of their feeding programmes are small children, especially those in creches, nursery schools and pre-schools and those in the first three years of life.

Stop Hunger Now’s charity effort on 18 July put together 856 000 meals in one day. This will feed 5945 children, three times a week for one year.
