“This was not a race but a fun run,” said the forum’s chairperson, Wendy Vorster-Robertson.
She said the main purpose of the Family Fun Day was to create greater awareness of the policing forum and the relationship between them, the Sandton community and the South African Police Service, as well as other major role players in the fight against crime.
“The policing forum sincerely thanks Redhill School for their willingness to assist and their eagerness in hosting this event.”
The family fun day included a 4km and 8km fun run/walk, various competitions, food and drink stalls as well as entertainment.
Vorster-Robertson added that the fun day would be this year’s fundraiser for the policing forum.
“We are earnestly looking for sponsorships and donations for the forum,” she said.
