Caxton branch to give back on Mandela Day

JOBURG - In commemorating the legacy of the late icon Nelson Mandela, the Caxton Johannesburg North Sales Team will be collecting non-perishable food and clothing and donating it to the less fortunate.

The initiative, taking place on Mandela Day on 18 July, will see the team donate non-perishable items and clothing to Usindiso Ministries Women’s shelter, located in Marshalltown.

According to Norah Ndlovu, the digital marketing assistant, the team decided to commemorate the day to keep Mandela’s legacy alive.

“We are doing what uTata Mandela would want us to do for others and to put smiles on the children’s faces,” she said.

In addition to donating the collected goods, the team will also spend some time at the shelter, home to vulnerable women and children, helping them with various chores. The team will assist the shelter for 67 minutes.

Ndlovu asked that people donate to the noble cause, as this would go a long way in assisting the most vulnerable and in need.

“Every struggle we have, we have to remember that someone else is fighting an even bigger one,” she said.

People interested in donating the non-perishable goods or clothing can drop off the goods at the Caxton Johannesburg North office at the reception area or contact Norah Ndlovu at norahn@caxton.co.za
