See international talent show winners in concert

JOBURG - For the first time, three international TV talent show winners will appear on stage for two unique concerts at Montecasino's Teatro.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts will be joined by James Bhemgee, winner of the second season of SA’s Got Talent, and Amira Willighagen, a winner of Holland’s Got Talent, for what should be a powerful performance.

“[The] three winners, different people from different walks of life, all had one thing in common – they dared to dream,” said concert promoter Ian Bredenkamp.

“In doing so, [they] overcame various difficult challenges.”

Potts amazed the talent show judges with his performance of opera aria Nessun Dorma during his audition for the TV show.

His story was captured in the inspiring, feel-good film One Chance.

Bhemgee was one of the great success stories to come out of the local version of the popular TV show.

The Capetonian was literally transformed from street-sweeper to singing sensation.

Willighagen, at nine years old, is the youngest-ever winner of the competition.

She astounded judges with her mature, strong rendition of soprano aria O Mio Babbino Caro, and videos of her performances have garnered more than 20 million hits on YouTube.

Paul Potts and Friends Live in Concert, presented by Famous Concerts and First National Bank, will take place on 16 and 17 August at Montecasino’s Teatro, Montecasino Boulevard, Fourways, at 8pm and 3pm respectively.
