DJ Fresh and Wimpy celebrate single mothers for Father’s Day
SANDTON - DJ Fresh, 5FM breakfast show host, held a Father’s Day breakfast for single mothers at the Wimpy in Sandton City.
The breakfast was not meant for fathers but for 12 single mothers who also play the role of father in their children’s lives.
On 15 June, DJ Fresh was joined by members of his breakfast show team, Catherine Grenfell, Duran Collett and Sol Phenduka, to host the moms and their children. DJ Fresh’s team played the role of dads for the day while the mothers took a break.
The breakfast team ran a competition on-air and selected the lucky moms who were honoured on the day.
DJ Fresh said, “This was a special day for me and the team. Spending time with the moms and their beautiful kids was a great experience. All mothers deserve to be acknowledged for their hard work in raising their children.”
Each mom and her children received a special gift from Wimpy and the Fresh team.
“We were more than happy to contribute to this wonderful initiative,” said Charmaine Ellis, Wimpy marketing executive.
“Celebrating and enjoying every moment with family and friends is part of the Wimpy heritage, and spending the morning with the moms and their children together with DJ Fresh and his team was just that.”
