Sandton MBA student graduates top of the class

SANDTON - University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (Gibs) held its formal graduation ceremony.

A total of 307 graduates walked the stage from the following programmes: Master in Business Administration (MBA), Post-graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA) and Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA).

Numerous awards were presented to top students from the different graduating classes, including Sandton-based Kevin Croft from the full-time MBA class, who obtained his MBA degree cum laude by achieving 17 distinctions.

Dean of Gibs, Professor Nick Binedell said, “Congratulations to all the students who graduated with their MBA, PDBA and DBA. It is a commendable accomplishment that could only have been achieved through your unwavering commitment, hard work and personal sacrifices. Well done, we wish you every success in your future.”

Prof. Binedell went on to remind the graduates that receipt of their degree on paper was not the finishing line. Instead, it was just the beginning, where implementation of the portfolio of skills, business experience and specialised knowledge learned had to be put into practise.

“We are living in a fast-paced dynamic and highly competitive market; we hope that what you have learned will help you go out to build businesses to create much-needed jobs in the country,” he added.
