How your library spends raised funds

SANDTON - The good folk of Sandton have been generous in supporting the Sandton Library book sales, and the library would like to give feedback on where the money goes.

For the period March 2013 to February 2014 the library took R103 000 worth of books at shelf price, directly into its inventory from donations.

Through money raised by their book sales another R61 000 worth, were purchased from book shops.

This means that R164 000 was spent on replenishing the Sandton Library’s stock.

“We are sure that borrowers have noticed the proliferation of stickers inside our new additions, reading, ‘Donated by Friends,'” said the library’s Keith Elliot.

This cash inflow ensures that the public are able to read recent best-sellers.

On 20 June, from 9am until 5pm and again on 21 June, the library located on Nelson Mandela Square will host its first winter book sale.

For these dates only books will be sold at R10 each.

Details: Keith Elliot 011 802 6054.
