Fans line up for One Direction tickets

SANDTON - One Direction fans lined up for their golden circle tickets at Sandton City.

The boy band is expected to perform in South Africa at three stadium shows in 2015. The tickets went on sale at 9am on 23 May.

Fan, Donavon Tollemache was the first person to buy tickets at Sandton City’s Computicket. He said he was the second person in line. “I was here from last night (22 May) at 10.30pm,” he said.

Another fan, Kyle Davkin was the first person in line to purchase his ticket, but the machine at Computicket jammed and he only got his ticket after Tollemache. “I am so relieved,” he said. “My brother and I were standing in line since 10pm last night (22 May) and he ended up going home to go try get the tickets online.”

Many others waited in line to get their tickets. Mothers and fathers stood in the line while their children were at school.

“This is a job for supermom,” said Zanele Thomas who was standing in line for her 14-year-old daughter who was at school. “I’m standing in line and trying to buy her a ticket online. It is tough,” she said.
