Sandton top cops get awarded

MORNINGSIDE - The Sandton Quarterly Top Cops Awards were presented to their worthy winners on 21 May at the Sandton Police Station in Morningside.

These awards go to the personnel who put in extra effort in the course of their duties during the last quarter. Brigadier Alan Billings, together with Community Police Forum chairperson, Wendy Vorster-Robertson recognised their efforts for persistence and dedication to the force.

For excellence in detective work and good conviction rates on murder, and business and house robbery cases,

the award was handed to Sergeant Nkhumeleni Mamilasigidi.

Paulinah Nomsombuluko was awarded with visible policing service. She has commanded the office since January and managed to keep up to date with all documents. She was acknowledged for her consistent performance, as she takes work home, assists in social crime and takes minutes in meetings.

The second award for visible policing was given to Matheres Nchauke, who was commended for his loyalty and commitment. According to Billings, he is always dressed in full uniform and helps take care of the routine at the client service centre.

Winner of support services was awarded to Elsie Lelaka. She was acknowledged for her dedication, loyalty and commitment to her duties. Billings said she reports to work early, deals with different tasks and helps with station plans.
