Putting investors first

SANDTON - CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) South Africa held a symbolic blowing of the kudu horn as part of the Putting Investors First campaign opening ceremony at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton.

The blowing of the horn aimed to demonstrate the institute’s affiliation with the global campaign and their commitment to enable the South African investment industry to place investor interests above all others. The institute is an association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials.

Philip Bradford, president of the institute said, “A commitment to uphold the highest standards of investment practice and to serve investors and the global economy can affect positive change in finance, but change starts with all of us.”

He added that the institute subscribes to the highest professional standards, and that the ceremony marked the reinforcement of the institute’s continuous work to improve the transparency, efficiency and credibility of the industry.

The Putting Investors First campaign is a month-long initiative and is part of the institute’s Future of Finance initiative, a long-term global effort to shape a trustworthy, forward-thinking financial industry that better serves society.

Throughout the month of May, activities are being hosted by hundreds of other CFA institute members in more than 50 cities around the world, representing more than 35 000 investment professionals.
