Pupils give back to other pupils

SANDTON _ Redhill pupils went to Maloney’s Eye Primary Farm School in Krugersdorp and planted 30 trees.

Nirvana Rogers, marketing officer of the school said the Grade 5 and 7 pupils were allocated four trees each to plant around the schoolgrounds. She said, “The pupils were given an hour to plant the trees and once they finished, they participated in games, singing songs and dancing, and thereafter began iPad lessons.”

Rogers said Redhill pupils taught the Maloney Eye pupils how to use an iPad and how to use the apps. She explained, “The Grade 6 group, focused on the theme, bullying and were able to produce a movie, acting out scenes depicting the different forms of bullying.”

She said another group of pupils focused on nutrition and taught the pupils how to make fruit salads and soup. “Not to be outdone, the Maloney Eye pupils also taught the Redhill pupils how to make clay pots and planted beans, cabbage and pea seeds in plastic bottles,” added Rogers.
