Win tickets to a Short and Sweet film experience

SANDTON - South Africa’s original short film experience, Short & Sweet, introduced their second season of film screenings.

People flocked to Katy’s Palace Bar to experience an array of animations, short films and music videos from around the globe.

As the doors opened to the long-awaited showing in Johannesburg, Lord and Lady Hendricks welcomed each guest with complimentary gin and tonics.

Production co-ordinator, Evan Tsiroukis said the event went really well. “I get to bring a new take to cinema with these screenings,” he said. “I enjoy watching people engage with the subject.”

Short & Sweet curator, Julia Stephenson, said, “No matter what language or cultural background we come from, we can all relate to the screen.

“What is it about short film that makes it so unique? All of us are human. We stand behind our project.”

Managing director of short & Sweet, Devin Herd, told the audience that every film will evoke something in them. “Let it sit with you,” said Herd.

Dedicated to the exhibition of short film as a critical art form, Short & Sweet will be running over the next five weeks.

Booking is essential as space is limited.
