Shot in the arm for two cellphones

MARLBORO - A man was shot in his right arm in Marlboro.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley Police said the victim’s brother claimed that he heard gunshots coming from the victim’s room. “He alleged that at about 2am he first heard voices from his brother’s room, then he heard his brother scream,” said Maphakela. “He further alleged that he woke up and went to check on his brother and found him seated on the bed.”

Maphakela said the victim claimed that he was attacked by two men and one of them was armed with a black firearm. “He pointed a gun at him, shot him in his right arm and took two of his cellphones,” added Maphakela.

He said the victim’s brother organised transport for his sibling and took him to the Alexandra Clinic where he was later transferred to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. Maphakela said, “The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his right arm and he was bleeding. Two cartridges were recovered at the scene. The victim is still at the hospital.”
