Japan comes to Sandton City

SANDTON - Japan Week, running from 26 to 31 March at Sandton City, is set to showcase a range of Japanese products.

The event is free to the public and runs from 9am to 7pm during the week, and from 9am to 6pm over the weekend.

Top architecture, artistic body painting, fascinating nail art, innovative hair products, the finest in music technology, home appliances, personal computers, outdoor equipment, cameras, film, electronics, the automotive industry and more will be highlighted in this unique event.

In addition to hosting a range of exhibitors, the following activities will also take place during the event:

  •  Appearances by Hello Kitty on 26 March from 2.30pm to 3pm, 28 March from 2.30pm to 3pm, 29 March from 1pm to 1.30pm and 30 March from 1pm to 1.30pm.
  •  Yamaha Music will present pianist Peter Baartmans accompanied by Kay-Leigh O at 11am on 29 and 30 March. Baartmans will also play at 2pm and 4pm on the same days.
  •  Appearances by Nintendo brothers, Mario and Luigi on 29 and 30 March.
  •  The Japanese Embassy will showcase the Japanese art of flower arranging called Ikebana, which dates back more than 500 years. This will take place at 11.30pm on 29 March and is a must-see.
