BUSINESS woman and entertainer Fikile ‘Fix’ Moeti seeks to inspire social entrepreneurs.

She has partnered with the Gordon Institute of Business Science in Sandton to award a scholarship of R22 500 every year. The scholarship will be awarded to aspiring social entrepreneurs with the aim of advancing each candidate’s business acumen and to prepare them to assume key leadership roles in today’s competitive social sector.

“It is truly a life-changing course if you consider yourself a social agent,” said Moeti. “The course guides your ideas, helps you implement them and ensures that you are given a good understanding of what social entrepreneurship entails. If you dream of changing the world, are ready for this dream to become a reality, and you are the next social entrepreneur, then you’re just the sort of person who should apply for the scholarship,” explained Moeti.

Having started her career in the entertainment and media industry at the age of 19, Moeti has always believed that business, the arts, and social development are not mutually exclusive. In order to play her part in making this belief a reality, after six years working in the entertainment industry she decided to go back to school, studying at Columbia College Chicago and New York University. She has constantly strived to enhance herself as a social entrepreneur so she continued her studies by enrolling at the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

Moeti is now focused on providing more opportunities and more platforms for innovative and enthusiastic entrepreneurs who not only want to make their ideas a reality, but also would like to do so in a way that brings about a positive social contribution.
