Nedbank’s generous donation to Forest Farm

HURLINGHAM - Nedbank has demonstrated its on-going commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves.

This was demonstrated with over 500 shirts to the Forest Farm Centre, which cares for and supports adults with cerebral palsy. The handover took place on 14 February at Forest Farm centre.

The donated T-shirts were collected at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, where guests were encouraged to arrive at the event wearing shirts they were willing to donate. Guests were then given free Nedbank golf challenge shirts in exchange for their own donated shirts.

David Lawson, regional sales manager of the Nedbank Gauteng north and west regions, reiterated the bank’s commitment to helping the community and expressed pleasure at being able to assist the centre.

“Nedbank has been donating shirts to charities for the past 32 years since the Nedbank Golf Challenge was started, and this year Forest Farm was identified as a most worthy beneficiary of the project,” he added.

The centre, owned by Cerebral Palsy Association, offers support and care to adults from all walks of life who suffer from cerebral palsy. The centre has been operating for 45 years and has almost 120 residents residing there.

Hans Peter, of Forest Farm, thanked Nedbank for the donation saying it would assist the centre greatly.

“We ensure that nothing goes to waste at the centre and these shirts are a significant contribution to us as we will sell those that aren’t kept for the residents, thus providing a useful income stream as well,” he added.

Also present at the handover was regional manager of Nedbank retail relationship banking, Gauteng north & west, Terry Stavrou.
