At some point in our lives, Wax believes one in four people suffer from mental illness. She realised she was the one in four between painting her kitchen beige, realising she didn’t own a ‘life manual’, and not being able to comprehend the contents of a children’s party bag. Hidden behind punchy humour Wax takes a dark and frightfully honest look into being human.
She discusses the toxins of our time like envy, fame, television, the insatiable drive to win, getting rich, the perfect body, marriage, kids, career and staying busy – all while looking like we’re having a ‘nice’ day.
But in true Ruby Wax style, the show is a bit more than just a scathing analysis of the technological world. Instead of a show split by an intermission, the break is followed by a de-briefing by Wax where she answers audience questions on health, wealth and buffoonery.
