Iconic diner returns to Sandton

HARD Rock Cafe is returning to Johannesburg in time for the summer season.

Located at Nelson Mandela Square in the Sandton CBD, this iconic restaurant and live music venue is preparing to open its doors with a soft launch in December.

The Hard Rock International team invited their first group of people to enjoy the tour of their music memorabilia from South African artists, contemporary superstars and legendary musicians.

The Jacksons, The Black Eyed Peas, Jimi Hendrix, AKA and Elton John memorabilia is on display.

The new cafe also incorporates some of Hard Rock’s newest technology and boasts the Rock Wall™ Solo, a 52-inch interactive touch screen that enables guests to virtually explore, access, and expand Hard Rock’s famed music memorabilia collection in locations around the globe with a single touch.

The cafe seats over 200 and features aged leather American dine- style banquette seating, a backstage, VIP dining area and raised fully padded booth seating.

According to general manager of Hard Rock Cafe Johannesburg Mo Capatia, the venue will open the space to all genres of music targeting different tastes, allocating different evenings for live gigs and DJ sets.

Hard Rock Cafe has not finalised a set date to launch to the public, but will open soon for lunch at 11.30am and keep the kitchen open for bar snacks until midnight during the week, and until 2am on weekends.
