Mistreatment by security company

I was walking my dogs on leads and under control on 2 November at about 7am in Hurlingham Park.

An ADT vehicle was parked inside the park near the Rosebank Union Church. I approached him very politely, pointed out that there was a sign at the Stirling Road end of the Park that forbade vehicles in the park.

I asked him very politely if he could move his vehicle about 3m and park in the shade on the road. The driver was surly but eventually moved his vehicle. I let it be. On 9 November, also early, I was again walking my dogs when I saw two ADT vehicles parked in the same place.

Again I very politely said my piece but this time I was met with hostility and extreme surliness which was most unpleasant and frightening. I walked on and decided to take a photo of the number plates whereupon the man who said he was the boss got out of his vehicle and screamed after me that I was a racist and other things that I would not like to mention.

On 11 November I tried to phone ADT to tell them what had happened. The receptionist, a man, refused to put me through to anyone unless I told him about my problem first and gave him my street address. I refused to do this as I was afraid and am thankfully not a member of ADT. I was then put through to the complaints department. The lady that answered that phone also refused to put me through to the manager who ‘was in a meeting’. I left my name and telephone number but no one returned my call.We are in a very sad situation if the guardians now turn out to be the aggressors. I am worried about walking early in the morning and I most certainly would not approach an ADT vehicle for help.
