Police bust fake traditional healer

FAKE traditional healers have conned a woman into giving them R150 000.

The Bramley police busted one of the suspects in Bryanston after following an investigation conducted by Constables Lungile Mbatha and Rhulani Shibambu.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson of the Bramley police said the 27-year-old foreign national man was found in possession of fake money, animal skin, muti, herbs and pamphlets that advertised the services he offered in Sandton. The services included finding a lost lover, penis enlargement, spiritual protection and success pills. “When the police arrived he attempted to run but he was caught and questioned,” said Maphakela.

The complainant identified the man as one of the culprits. She said there were two other accomplices, a woman that goes by the name Mama Zaina and a man known to her as the professor.

The police urge community members to be wary of fake traditional healers and come forward if they have any information that could lead to the culprits’ arrest. Maphakela said further investigations were still underway.
