Bryanston Cubs give their time

CUBS and Adult Leaders of the first Bryanston Scout group visited the Firlands Children’s Home as part of their community service project.

The home is run by the Salvation Army and provides for the needs of about 60 children between the ages of three and 18.

The project was selected because of the link to the theme of this year’s National Challenge. The challenge encourages Scout groups across the country to participate in various activities to make young people aware of relevant and topical societal issues.

Each Cub was encouraged to collect items of clothing, food, toiletries and children’s toys, which were donated to the home.

An afternoon of games and fun activities was also arranged for the Cubs and the children.

Bryanston Scouts Hall is situated at the junction of Grosvenor Road and River Road in Bryanston and Cubs meet on Friday evenings.
