Donate your plants to beautify Bryanston

A dedicated resident is asking fellow Sandton residents to help her beautify the streets of Bryanston.

Donna Sipman, a lifelong Bryanston dweller has spent the past few months clearing overgrown pavements and traffic islands in preparation for spring.

“My team have been clearing out weeds and preparing the land. now, as the first rains approach, we are asking the community to get involved,” said Sipman.

Sipman is asking residents to share their plants out of their gardens.

“Just before it rains, avid gardeners will start splitting their plants. In days gone by, neighbours and families would share their plants. They would split them at the beginning of spring and pass them on to others. I want to bring back that sense of community.”

Residents are encouraged to contact Sipman when they are splitting their plants. She will send a representative to collect the plants and over the next couple of months, will plant them throughout Bryanston.

“Just picture it. In December when the flowers start blooming, you will be driving down the road and will be greeted by an array of beautiful colours. It will be amazing,” said the enthusiastic Sipman.
