Ground-breaking medical aid service

JOBURG - Thebe Ya Bophelo Healthcare Administrators are responding to market needs and have announced new developments for medical schemes that are geared to benefit South Africans.

The chief executive officer of Thebe Ya Bophelo Healthcare, Rohan Laird launched the company’s ground-breaking medical aid service plan at Hyatt Regency in Rosebank on 15 October.

The company is a healthcare administrator, and it has launched a comprehensive lifestyle-enhancement programme for the medical schemes it administers.

“Joining a medical aid is all about improving the quality of one’s life through better access to health care,” said Laird.

“Mobile communication is essential in today’s world and highly valued, this is a unique benefit that our members really want,” explained Laird. “We believe that this benefit alone will attract younger members, and keep them loyal, something that all medical schemes must do to ensure members get value for their money when obtaining medical cover and related benefits.” Laird explained that many young adults tend to neglect the important priority of medical aid and yet spend their earnings on similar lifestyle purchases.

“We thought it would be better to bring these within their reach at a value they can appreciate and more,” he said.

Laird also said that the company plans to introduce mobile applications at a later stage, such as self-service, benefit management, provider network look-up and patient record that can be used and accessed on the smart-phone on offer.
