87 distinctions at Hyde Park High School

SANDTON – The matric class of Hyde Park High School achieved 87 distinctions in the IEB exams.

Chao-Hong Peng, head boy, achieved seven distinctions for accounting, Afrikaans, engineering graphics and design, English, life orientation, mathematics and physical sciences.

Hyde Park High School performed exceptionally well in the 2018 matric results.

It has been a successful year at Hyde Park High School and the school would like to celebrate the Class of 2018. The school achieved a 98.92 per cent pass rate and obtained 87 subject distinctions, with 84.26 per cent of the learners achieving a bachelor degree pass. These achievements have demonstrated the dedication and commitment from all the matric candidates.

The school is very proud of their achievements, especially as they are a government school that writes IEB exams. Manolis Vogiatzis, principal of Hyde Park High School would like to thank all of the learners, parents, staff members and the broader school community for their support and enthusiasm during the year and they look forward to another successful year in 2019.

The top-performing head boy Chao-Hong Peng achieved seven distinctions. His awards last year included full colours in tennis, table tennis, academics, and a white honours blazer.

Deputy head boy Joshua Wacks achieved six distinctions. He was also awarded full colours in cross-country, athletics, and academics as well as a white honours blazer.
