Take a break and bowl at Wanderers

ILLOVO – Residents from all over the city are invited to the social game of bowling which accomodates people of all ages and gender at the Wanderers Club.

People prefer different methods of relaxing after a hard day’s work and bowling seems to be one of them. Wanderers bowls section is a bowling club consisting of members from the ages of 12 to 93 years old who meet at Wanderers Club in Illovo.

Vice chairperson of the club Janis Vice-chairpersony offered a morning or afternoon of social enjoyable and sometimes competitive bowls. “We offer a bowls clinic run on a Saturday morning where we teach you to play or improve bowls at no cost at all. On a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning there are Tab sessions which are sociable games, enjoyed by all who play,” explained Fluxman. She added that they had teas, braais, quizzes and an enjoyable chat together after the games.

For the bowlers who like to play league, Fluxman said they enter six teams of players who play league on Saturday afternoons. “You never need to feel alone or lonely or wish you could do some exercise but don’t know what to do. Come and join us, become part of our Wanderers bowling family, we’ll welcome you with open arms.”
