The Inanda Club recently hosted the Nedbank International Polo event, which saw Australia and South Africa facing off.
This year’s polo event was hosted by Nedbank and saw celebrities and polo enthusiasts gathering in Sandton to watch the riveting match between the two teams. On the day, players competed on horses, which were lent on the day, adding an extra challenge for both teams.
The Australian team was led by veteran player Glen Gilmore and they were victorious over South Africa winning by 10 goals to seven at the final whistle. The South African team, led by 29-year-old Tom de Bruin, put up a tough fight against the Australian team.
Gilmore was awarded the Most Valuable Player prize and Cornish the horse, ridden by James Lester, also from the Australian team, won the coveted Best Pony award.
