Local market at Field and Study in Parkmore

PARKMORE – The Field Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month and offers a variety of stalls for the whole family.

Residents from all over are treated to a market day once a month at the Field and Study Centre in Parkmore.

The Field Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month and hundreds of visitors flock to take in the locally produced items that are on sale. The stalls sell anything from handmade pottery, fresh organic produce to clothing, and there is an array of food stalls.

Handri Coolen of the Field Market said it started in 2015 with less than 20 stalls. “Back then around 200 people visited the market,” said Coolen.

“Every market differs but some markets have between 600 and a 1 000 people that walk through.”

The market has evolved and now hosts 130 stalls which cater for everyone. Coolen said they have live music every month and there were activities and play areas for children.

“We don’t have imported items and it’s all locally made and we try and keep it unique and not duplicate too much.”
