Joburg Neon Run to light up St Stithians College

The Neon Run Johannesburg is getting ready to light up a brand new location for this year’s event on 2 September.

St Stithians College is hosting the glowing event, welcoming the whole family to participate by running, walking, cycling or even skating for the duration of the 5km course.

This is the fourth year of the popular event, which is expected to host 12 000 people to light up the night.

The Neon Run Johannesburg comprises a 5km course bursting with activations including paint, disco and graffiti walls, LED and fire dancers. The event culminates at the finish line where participants enjoy live entertainment acts.

The night race is a brilliant opportunity to dress up and indulge in a fun and fitness combination. The race is not limited to running and people can bring their pets along to enjoy the event. There will also be neon gear on sale.

Founder of the successful run, Travis Brown said, “The Neon Run has built up a diverse and loyal following. For the past three years, we have had an average of 12 000 athletes per year at our Johannesburg events. The production is top class, with high-quality stage and sound, for more than 10 000 people, and a lighting, pyrotechnic and laser show which will climax during our headline acts.”

Top South African performers will headline the end of the race, making it an event not to be missed.

Doors will open at 2 pm and close at 11.30pm. Early bird tickets are limited and available at www.neonrun.co.za for R180 including funky neon goodies. Other options include bulk ticket discounts and corporate packages.
