Suspects use jamming device on Merc

MARLBORO GARDENS - Items worth R12 000 were stolen from the boot of a Mercedes Benz in Marlboro Gardens.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police thinks the suspects might have used a jamming device to gain access to the boot. “There was no visible evidence of a forced entry,” added Maphakela.

He said the man had parked his car outside of his house on the driveway for about an hour. “All doors and windows were locked and the vehicle immobiliser was activated,” said Maphakela.

He said when the man returned to the car, he drove to Rivonia where he realised that items from his boot were missing.

Maphakela said the suspects stole a laptop, an iPad, two hard drives, memory sticks, a 3G card as well as plugs and cables from the boot of the vehicle. “No one saw anything suspicious and there was no CCTV security footage,” said Maphakela.

No arrests have been made.
