A celebration of good food and good wine

RIVONIA - Faircity Quatermain Hotel and Reach for a Dream Foundation celebrated Christmas in July.

Guests were invited to purchase either a table or a pair of tickets towards charity, and also indulge in a night of good food and good wine at the Quatermain Hotel in Morningside.

The event was to raise funds for the Reach for a Dream Foundation which continues to bring hope and joy to children who fight life-threatening illnesses.

Various prizes were auctioned and the proceeds were donated to the Reach for a Dream Foundation. Speaker Sarah Bauling used her fun and witty personality to conduct the bidding.

Throughout the dinner, chef Coco Reinarhz and his kitchen team treated guests to a five course menu paired with wines from Glen Carlou. Reinarhz is the chef patron of Sel et Poivre and Le Petit Sel restaurant in Sandton and he owns a restaurant at the Cradle of Humankind nature reserve.

The guests also enjoyed a night stay at the Quatermain Hotel as well as entertainment from a string trio that played classic sounds while guests intermingled. “Reach for a Dream Foundation is a wonderful organisation that does the most amazing, uplifting and inspirational work under very dire and sometimes very sad circumstances,” said Jaco Steyn-Venter, the general manager of Faircity Quatermain and Falstaff Hotels.

Steyn-Venter added, “We are really excited to showcase the best that Faircity Quatermain has to offer in terms of facilities, services and great food during this special event.”
