X Factor South Africa judges revealed

JOBURG - The X Factor South Africa's judges have finally been announced.

It was a starry and mysterious night at the Montecasino Ballroom for the announcement of The X Factor South Africa’s judges.

The venue was filled to the brim with the cream of the crop of South African talent, from newcomer Casper Nyovest to big names like Slikour. The X Factor music competition was created by music industry legend, Simon Cowell and started in the United Kingdom.

However, the competition now has versions in numerous countries across the world including the USA, Denmark and Australia.

The ‘X Factor’ refers to the judges’ search to find a special star quality in contestants. Not only do the judges make the decision of who the winner of the competition will be, but they also mentor the contestants and guide them along their journey to stardom.

This is why, as mysterious as the announcement was, The X Factor South Africa judges are none other than Oskido, Zonke and Arno Carstens. Oskido is an award-winning producer, performer, radio presenter, record producer and entrepreneur. He founded the legendary Kalawa Jazzmee label, a local institution that has shaped South African youth culture, producing acts like Bongo Maffin, Mafikizolo, Boom Shaka and DJ Zinhle.

Znke has achieved incredible success as a singer, songwriter and producer and has won numerous SAMA awards. Arno Carstens, the former lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls and renowned solo artist has released 10 studio albums and shared the stage with music legends like U2, The Rolling Stones and REM. The X Factor South Africa makes its highly-anticipated debut on SABC 1 on 6 September at 6pm.
