Service delivery campaign continues

SANDTON - Ward 102 councillor’s Look and Log Campaign continues.

Councillor David Potter first launched the campaign last year and through it residents became more knowledgeable and comfortable with logging their City of Johannesburg service delivery issues. He continues to encourage residents to Look and Log their issues with the city council.

“Where the city council is failing to address issues logged, residents can forward their query and reference number to my office,” said Potter. “Without a reference number we are unable to trace the query. With some issues it is difficult to get reference numbers, and in that case you are welcome to send me the issue so I can advise further.”

He said grass cutting in City Parks’ public open spaces was still a problem.

“City Parks are struggling to address the backlog of park grass cutting from December 2013 and January, and daily I get complaints about parks that are in a disastrous state. Councillors in Region B have voiced their concerns to City Parks’ management, however, the depots can only work with the resources they have allocated to them,” he said.

Streetlight repairs, recreation centre upgrades and vagrants are also some of the issues that residents are still unhappy with, as well as service delivery from the Metro police and the Land Use Management Department. Potter said, “The Region B Councillors will continue to put pressure to ensure delivery takes place. “The Look and Log guide has been improved this year and if residents do not log, the city council will not know,” said Potter.
