Wendywood High proud of pass rate

WENDYWOOD High School were happy with their matric results.

Their target for 2013 was to attain a 100 percent pass rate, and an improvement in the university exemption rate, as well as to increase the number of subject distinctions. Principal Shawn Prince was proud to announce that Wendywood High School achieved a 99 percent overall pass rate.

“We managed to improve the university pass rate from 50 percent in 2012 to 61 percent in 2013 and attained 63 subject distinctions,” said Prince. He added that the pupil who did not pass is allowed to re-write their two subjects in February and March this year.

“Well done to the class of 2013, they have done us proud,” added Prince.

Their top achievers were proud of their results and worked hard to achieve them. Quaanitah Manique received six distinctions and Sashkia Balla, Nevette Reddy, Sherielle Le Roux, Sivuyile Mhatu and Tanaka Muttavaviri obtained three distinctions each. Other pupils also achieved less than three subject distinctions, bringing the total to 63. Their subject averages showed tremendous improvement last year, and the school plans to raise them even higher for the class of 2014.

“We certainly will set the bar higher in 2014 with the help of all stakeholders,” concluded Prince.
