Finding a visable solution to follow-home crimes

FOLLOW-HOME crimes are still prevalent in South Africa.

Clive Humphrey, managing director of ADT Central Region recommends that residents make use of the escort service offered by their private security provider.

He said, “There are still reports of motorists being followed from the airport, banks and shopping

centres.

“It’s important to remember that a number of security companies offer their clients a ‘meet and greet’

service.

“An officer meets clients at their residence and ensures they get inside safely.

The officer will also generally do an inspection of the premises on arrival to ensure all is well.”

Humphrey said that the service was a very valuable crime

deterrent.

“If you however find yourself

in a situation where you suspect you are being followed, drive to your nearest police station or security guard hut or boom and ask for assistance,” added Humphrey.
