THE St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory School cricket team visited the Boipelo Combined Schools Sports Grounds in Kagiso to host a cricket skills session.

The pupils shared their knowledge about the game of cricket with about 60 Kagiso cricket players.

“Children from this area have a great enthusiasm for cricket, but they lack facilities and equipment,” said Jill Millard of St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory School.

“This has also resulted in limited opportunities for the sport to be played in the area,” added Millard. The Saints along with their coaches Elias Thlabanyane and Bethuel Galane, spent an afternoon sharing a number of cricketing skills in batting, fielding and bowling. They also donated caps, T-shirts, water bottles, and new and used cricket equipment to the players in Kagiso.
