E-toll smear campaign takes jab at ANC

The N3 highway now features another potshot at e-tolls, this time in the form of subliminal advertising from what is presumed to be paid for by an opposition party.

A billboard, proclaiming that e-tolls are proudly bought to the public thanks to the African National Congress, was erected on 3 October.

It seems to be an attempt to sway voters from giving the ANC a tick in next year’s elections.

Democratic Alliance shadow Minister for Transport, Ian Ollis, said he has been receiving many enquiries about the billboard – but chose to remain mute on the matter.

The ANC has not responded to the latest hit on the party.

E-tolls are expected to be implemented before the festive season, following President Jacob Zuma signing the paid road usage bill into law.
