Manka Moleko: I’m a teacher at a secondary school. We started working with the foundation in 2016 through Thari (A partner of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation). I wanted to introduce the change of good results. At that time, we had a 40% pass rate, but now we are at 98% because of their help.
Beneficiaries of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation and its partners speak on how the foundation has helped them. Here is what each had to say.
Shaun Maunatlala: They made life very easy by taking a load off from my parents. They gave me opportunities that I never thought were available. Through the foundation, I learned that there are always endless opportunities… Now, I’m an aircraft engineer at Safair.Tshepo Lepote: I’m a beneficiary myself, and a banker now. I’m from Soweto, coming from a different environment altogether where opportunities were scarce. With them [foundation] coming on board, and assisting one with realising their dreams, it has been incredible.Zintle Ramano: I’ve been a beneficiary of Black Umbrellas since 2023. They’ve created an enterprise and supplier development incubator programme for entrepreneurs. They’ve equipped me with a business coach and we got a chance to pitch to potential investors.
