  1. Didi, a 32-year-old scientist, murdered in Bramley

Police have confirmed the murder of Dorcas ‘Didi’ Lekganyane (32) who was stabbed multiple times, allegedly by her partner, on July 11 in Bramley.

2. Fire at Atholl substation affects power supply in Sandton and surrounds

There is a power outage affecting some areas of Sandton and surrounds due to a fire at Atholl Substation. Eskom has not yet provided an estimated time of restoration.

3. Phase two of maintenance of the Rand Water Palmiet Station has begun

The second phase (two of three) of the maintenance at Rand Water’s Palmiet Pump Station commenced on July 15 until July 17.

During this period, pumping was reduced to 68% for 50 hours. Phase three of the Palmiet maintenance is scheduled to begin on July 29.
