St. David’s Marist Inanda celebrated its annual Champagnat Day on June 6 with a vibrant array of Founders Day festivities.
The event, held in honour of the school’s founder, Saint Marcellin Champagnat, was a joyful occasion marked by fun activities, community spirit, and a meaningful fundraising effort.
The school grounds were alive with excitement as learners, staff, and parents gathered to participate in the day’s events.
From spirited games and sports competitions to creative arts and crafts, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the energetic performances by the school’s musicians, showcasing the impressive talents of the learners.
However, the festivities were not just about fun and games. In a heartwarming display of solidarity, the staff took the opportunity to raise funds for the staff bursary fund.
This initiative is crucial in supporting the bursary programme which provides boys from previously disadvantaged households the chance to receive a quality education at St David’s Marist. The staff’s commitment to this cause is a testament to the school’s ethos of inclusivity and community support.
Cynthia Nkosi, the director of religious education for the prep school, expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of Champagnat Day.
“This day is not only a celebration of our heritage and values but also a demonstration of our collective effort to make a difference in the lives of young boys who deserve the opportunity to thrive through education.”
