Local foundation hosts impactful entrepreneur workshop

Empowerment workshops aim to provide individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to lead fulfilling lives, make meaningful contributions to society, and navigate the challenges they encounter with confidence and resilience.

Empowerment is a multifaceted concept that goes beyond providing individuals with resources and opportunities.

As a dynamic process that enables people to recognise their abilities, make choices, and take control of their lives, the Zoe Legacy Foundation hosted a powerful entrepreneurs’s workshop in Wendywood.

With a focus on inspiring and equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to take control of their lives, make positive changes, and reach their full potential, the locals who attended had a great day learning more about starting a business and taking control of their lives.

Justin Naidoo, the overseer of the foundation said, “We have seen the increase in unemployment in the country, and with youth unemployment stats being always high, we felt as a foundation that it is time we resource and tool people to craft their own path.”

He added that the workshop is to give them guidelines to follow in whatever venture they are taking.

Justin Naidoo speaks at the empowerment workshop.

“Encouraging participants to explore and understand their strengths, weaknesses, values, and aspirations is fundamental to making informed decisions and setting meaningful goals.”

Naidoo explained that they have different speakers who will talk more about their entrepreneurial journey to showcase that it is possible for one to establish their own thing and make it work.

“This empowerment workshop is a guide for participants in setting realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals, and we are hoping that by the end of the day, all will be identifying personal and professional objectives and creating action plans to attain them.”

Speaker Stacey Ann Pillay said that empowerment is often amplified through connections with others, and for sure, this workshop may facilitate networking opportunities, encourage collaboration, and foster a sense of community support.

“Budgeting, financial planning, and investment basics are some of the important parts one has to take control of in their business or anything they are starting in order to have financial wellbeing.”

Pillay added that economic empowerment is a critical aspect of overall empowerment and hopes all the individuals who were present took all the lessons that they shared into consideration.
