Morningside fashion designer charms with frills

Morningside was the perfect launchpad for Teniade Macaulay’s season to shine in the Sandton fashion circles, introducing the Charming Frills collection to the world.

Morningside resident and fashion designer Teniade Macaulay hosted an intimate launch of her debut fashion range – Charming Frills on October 29.

Arriving guests entered a serene garden, accompanied by classical adaptation of 80s pop music. The small group was invited to peruse Macaulay’s range, and try on items which inclined purses to openly invest in mature, airy season wear.

The Charming Frills collection comprises items influenced by the natural environment – flowers, leaves and plants inspired Macaulay’s designs, textures and fabrics.

“Nature inspired my designs, and that’s why this theme is called the Charming Frills,” said Macaulay. “The colours as well; the colours are warm, and pretty, but they’re still strong.

“That’s the background of what you see here in my collection.”

Maculay has previously held an extensive career in IT and telecommunications prior to venturing into fashion design in her 40s. The dream, for Macaulay, has always been fashion.
