Crawford learners rode at dawn

Crawford International Preparatory Schools have been awarded authorisation as International Baccalaureate World Schools offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

A Transdisciplinary Unit of Inquiry forms part of a series of engagements that follow an inquiry cycle.

The Crawford International Sandton Preparatory uses the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and six transdisciplinary themes as an opportunity for learners to tune in to a concept, find or sort out information, make connections, or take action.

During the learning journey, learners will investigate outcomes from subjects where learning will take place in context rather than in subject silos.

Observation, documentation, and reflection on children’s actions will be done continuously and form the cornerstone of our teaching and learning methodology.

According to Nadia Cooke, the project coordinator at the school, they are committed to involving the school community in the success of their student’s learning experiences.

Cooke concluded by stating that it was the introduction to the Unit of Inquiry of ‘How we organise ourselves, the learners will continue their learning by investigating push-and-pull factors and making connections to their observations by designing and building efficient model vehicles’.
