St David’s Marist Inanda School emerges victorious at rugby and hockey tournament

Participation in these tournaments allowed St David's Marist Inanda to demonstrate its commitment to fostering a competitive sports culture and athletic development among young athletes.

The gentleman of St David’s Marist Inanda recently participated in highly anticipated rugby and hockey tournaments.

The battle took place at St David’s Marist Inanda sports grounds, on May 22 against Heronbridge College, Hoërskool Bethlehem Voortrekker, and Springs High School.

St David’s Marist Inanda displayed resilience and determination in the rugby tournaments, competing against formidable opponents.

The first rugby team from St David’s Marist Inanda School won by 26-0 against Springs High School. The match was highly competitive, and despite a challenging battle, St David’s Marist Inanda demonstrated its prowess on the field.

The third rugby team, U15 A won 49-0, and the U15 B side won 36-0 all against Hoërskool Bethlehem Voortrekker. Both teams showcased their tenacity and secured well-deserved victories against their opponents. The school’s rugby teams demonstrated their commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournaments.

In the hockey fixtures, St David’s Marist Inanda’s teams exhibited exceptional skill, strategic play, and a passion for the sport. The U14 A lost by 1-0 against Springs High School, while the U15 A team displayed their strength and agility. The U15 B teams demonstrated great determination and teamwork, winning 5-3 against Hoërskool Bethlehem Voortrekker

St David’s Marist Inanda’s second hockey team emerged victorious with a 3-0 in a thrilling match against Heronbridge College, showcasing their technical prowess and commitment to excellence.

“We are incredibly proud of our boys for their outstanding performances,” said Bradley Ireland, deputy head of extramural activities at St David’s Marist Inanda.

“Their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship have been commendable, and they have represented our school with distinction. We congratulate all the athletes and their coaches for their exceptional achievements,” added Ireland.
